Train Travel in Australia
Taking a train through Australia is another option for travelers. Each state has its own train system and there is also the Indian Pacific which will take you from coast to coast (Sydney-Adelaide-Perth) in three days. Traveling on the Indian Pacific can be an expensive option to get from A to B but it’s great if you want to really see the landscape.
A popular route taken by train is the overnighter from Adelaide to Alice Springs. Although I wouldn’t recommend taking a train for any of the long hauls I would highly recommend using the train systems within each state. It is the most economical way to get around when you are traveling short distances.
