Kings Park, Perth

Kings Park is a 1003 acre park located on the edge of Perth that is home to over 300 native plant and 80 bird species. Visit and enjoy the panoramic views of Darling Range and Swan RIver and is the largest inner city park in the world. The park is the most popular tourist attraction in Western Australia, with over 5 million visitors every year.
Kings Park is home to the State War Memorial, a reservoir and the Royal Kings Park Tennis club. The park was originally opened in 1895, and was originally named Perth Park, but renamed Kings Park in 1901 to mark the ascension of King Edward VII. The botanic garden within the park is home to the Gija Jumulu Boab Tree, the Lotterywest Federation Walkway and the Conservation Garden. Visit the park in September when the Kings Park Festival is thrown, a month long celebration of workshops, exhibitions, floral displays, guided walks, live music, interpretive artworks and family activities. This amazing month-long event attracts many visitors and promoted the natural beauty of Perth and Western Australia.
Take a picnic to the park any time of year and enjoy many different things, like the various walks and trails throughout the park, Jacob's Ladder, a set of 242 steps and many other attractions.
