Flinders Street Station, Melbourne

Enjoy the Victorian architecture and large, striking clock faces of this major Melbourne landmark.   Built in the late 19th century, this is purported to be the southern hemisphere's busiest suburban railway station. Located right next to Federation Square, this is an interesting architectural juxtaposition of historic and modern. Located on the corner of Swanston and Flinders Streets in the heart of the city next to the Yarra River, this station is a cultural icon to the people of Melbourne, and is frequently used as an image to represent the city.  Hotels and accommodations close to Flinders Street Station are extremely convenient for tourists and visitors as they are a quick transit ride away from many incredible Melbourne attractions.

Melburnians have the idioms "I'll meet you under the clocks" and "I'll meet you on the steps" referring to the row of clocks and stairs at the main entrance of the station.
