Australia Tourist Attractions

Bondi Beach, Sydney

This gorgeous and popular beach is located just 7 kilometres east of Sydney's central business district and is about one kilometre long and was added in 2008 to the Australian National Heritage List.  The swimming at this beach can be hazardous at times, so it is very important to follow the signs and swim only between the flagged areas, between the yellow and red flags. This beach is patrolled by lifeguards and is a hotspot for sunbathing, swimming, surfing and other various water sports.

There are activities year round at Bondi Beach, from kite flying, surfing competitions to galleries, markets and festivals.  Enjoy the view and tuck into some great food at one of the many coffee shops and restaurants along the beach. The Bondi Beach Markets are a great attraction for tourists to visit and are held on Sundays at the Bondi Beach Public School.  Bondi Beach is a big destination for backpackers, and there are many hostels located there, although no camping or caravanning is permitted. There are also hotels located along the beach, although most five-star accommodations are located closer to the city centre.
