Bicentennial Park, Sydney

A big part of the 2000 Summer Olympics, this park is a perfect place for a day filled with outdoor activities.  There are playgrounds, cycle paths, wetlands and barbecue and picnic areas available.  Located on the shores of Homebush Bay, this park is part of the Sydney Olympic Park.  Bicentennial Park is a natural heritage site and an important part of the wetland ecosystem, it sprawls over 100 hectares and features playgrounds, pathways, picnic areas, cycle ways and access to bird hides, the wetlands and salt marsh. Offering nature-based tours, visitors recreation, outdoor event experiences and environmental education. While visiting the park, be sure to visit the impressive attractions, such as the 'Cyrus the Great' statue, Sundial, Peace Monument, Lake Belvedere, various water features and the Silent Hearts Memorial Garden.
